Session Description
According to data provided by the Ministry of Environment, the construction industry emits 33% of greenhouse gases (GHG) 3, in addition to 90% of the fine particulate material (MP 2.5) at the country level. Additionally and according to the BNE, only considering the stage of operation, the buildings are responsible for 26% of the final energy use. In June 2019, our country's commitment to achieving carbon neutrality by 2050 was announced and that is why the decarbonization of the construction sector including buildings and public and private infrastructure is key to achieving the objectives of the Paris agreement and meeting the Sustainable Development Goals.
