Session Description
Flexible real estate’s popularity has been growing for the past few years, but COVID dramatically accelerated the trend of companies moving away from long term leases where all employees worked under one roof. As most companies moved to a WFH policy during COVID, many managers started hiring employees without geographic restrictions. As more folks are vaccinated each day and the world begins to open back up, there will be a new normal. Not only will employees work hybrid schedules (some days in the office and some days at home), but since companies have been hiring talent regardless of where they live, real estate strategies will need to be able to serve employees all over the country and in many instances the world. A distributed workforce has many upsides, but the logistical challenges are not trivial. From access for space on-demand, to onboarding new employees, to sustaining a company culture, and entirely new ecosystems of tools are solutions are needed to power a distributed workforce.
